The instructions are very hard to read and understand. I had a 4 stroke Mercury outboard motor 2005 model. Myself and son in law both read and tried to install it on the outboard and the harness would not stay on and kept slipping off. The picture in the instructions shows an outboard with a tiller handle which those motors are used for Jon boats not for outboards that are used for pontoons or speedboats. I do not recommend this harness for any outboard motor that are used on pontoon boats and speedboats. The harness will come off and if you have the motor upright on a stand or mounted to the transom you will drop it. It is a very dangerous harness.
