What a great idea for a bag/tote. We use ours to carry our Helinox chairs, and purchased this bag based on the reputation of the company for quality materials and construction. We have owned knock-off camping chairs in the past, and once they broke we ordered the real thing from Helinox- the differences between them were clear. Better stitching, thicker fabrics, and a much better attention to detail.MATERIALS: This bag follows the same rules for material construction as other Helinox products, and durability is not a concern whatsoever. The buckles are secure, and straps well attached to the bag itself, and the panels on this bag are thick, and have a padding to them which makes sitting on rough ground more pleasant when it is folded out.FUNCTION: Functionality is great. It holds two backpacking chairs (Each about the size of a half gallon of milk) two water bottles, with enough room to spare for hats/gloves etc along with bags of snacks, whatever. Its not a cooler, but it will keep things out of the sun and cool better than a thin reusable bag would. The footprint when unfolded is not large enough to lay down on or anything, as you can see by the specs, but its perfect for keeping your butt dry, or to just get you off the ground. We bring it kayak camping, and in the cooler months it provides a great insulated layer between us and a boulder, whereas the rock would have sapped heat from our bodies without it.OVERALL: It unfolds easily, folds back up easily, and is a great solution to carry things you might want, as well a nice butt pad. Would also be good for concerts, sporting events with bench seats, etc. Friends of ours are interested in one to use as a mobile dog bed/pad in the car to help keep their car clean, and tote around toys/treats etc when not in use. If you find yourself in a situation where sitting on the ground, or otherwise need a small ground pad for 2 people to sit on (works great for wet/cold/snowy surfaces too) you can't go wrong with this.
