I am a commuter at a large state school and I often have classes all day. I have to bring my books and notes with me but it's also essential that I have other items such as my water bottle, hand lotion, lunchbox, etcetera. All of the stuff I need adds up and it takes a special kind of bag to be able to 1) be large enough to fit all of that and 2) to not be a total burden on my back.The bag arrived on time and in good condition (despite the blizzard on the east coast so A+ to Amazon!) Upon unfolding the bag you'll notice that:1) It is VERY large, which at first alarmed me. There's a happy medium when it comes to the size of a tote bag because if it's too small it's useless because you can't fit everything you need and if it is too big it's usually already very heavy or can be easily made heavy because you just throw stuff in there without thinking. This bag is not heavy at all when empty which is always an excellent quality in a tote or carry all.2) The material is washable! It does not attract dirt or dust, which is great because it's unavoidable to put a bag of this size on the floor when you are a student. (Though the lack of dirt on my bag may be because I got a darker color.)After using it for several days I can fit my iPad, planner, pens and pencils, several notebooks, water bottle and lunch box with plenty of room to spare. The provided pouch is perfect for storing chargers or wires you may need through out the day. My 15 inch MacBook Pro also fits comfortably and the bag is not terribly uncomfortable, though it does start to get heavy when you're standing on a bus for 20 minutes. The nice thing about the bag is that it is big enough when I need to take my laptop or extra items to school for a long day or if I want to keep the load light. You could feasibly throw in a change of pants or work out clothes (but I don't know about sneakers) if you didn't have too many books in there.The only negative I've found about the bag is it's lack of organization which I think is understandable on LeSportsac's part. They wanted to keep the bag's weight low and adding bells and whistles like keychains and extra pockets might make that more difficult. It has three outer zipper pockets that are good for your phone, wallet, keys or even storing a pencil case for easy access. They would easily fit a standard size disposable water bottle. I use a 24 oz Thermos reusable water bottle that does not fit in it perfectly but as long as it's in one of the outside pockets, the top of it that is sticking out does not bother me.I would recommend this bag to any commuter or for anyone taking a day or weekend trip. But I would also tell them to have some smaller pouches or a purse organizer so you don't go crazy trying to find your phone or favorite pen at the bottom of this enormous bag.Got this bag in Rebel print and some smaller Lesportsac envelope style bags for organization inside the bag. I love it. Everything is neat and has a place and I know right where to find it. I bought this to use as a diaper bag and so far I'm loving it. The front pockets are great and wish they had them on both sides of the bag! The pockets fit a 20oz water bottle easily or my kids sippy cup or baby bottle. I cloth diaper so I needed a roomy bag for my fluff. Love that the bag is durable and easy to clean with 3 kiddos its bound to get put through the wringer. One downside is that this is a tote so there is no body strap and I can't hang the bag on my stroller handle bar. I knew this might be the case going in given my stroller is wider and the bag only had shoulder straps. Just something to be aware of if you need a body strap. But overall great purchase so happy with my bag!*Note: I like to use bags that don't look like diaper bags as my diaper bags so I can use them for other purposes later. Lesportsac does make diaper bags but they aren't quite my style.This is a bit different that I was thinking... but it is still a really good quality LeSportsac. It is nearly as long as the xlarge weekend duffle bag. I was thinking it would be a bit shorter in length - but that's ok. It has a zipper close. I love the print. The little circles almost look shell like in person as well as in the photo. They are not, it's just a print.. but a pretty one. I purchased the xl weekender to match. If you've never owned a LeSportsac and you travel a fair amount, you should pick a print or plain that attracts you and order one piece. They are super light weight on their own and tough and useful. You'll be back for more. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.I adore this bag. Bought it for a trip to Europe, and it was perfect for travel. I did make one change. I added straps on the back to slip over my luggage handle. They made a huge difference. If LeSportsac did the same, this would be a 5 star. Note that when fully loaded, like with a pillow, the top extends up about 3 inches, which is great. Only problem at all was the way the top zipper pulls would get stuck in the corners. When that happened, it took some finagling to get them to pull. If you haul a laptop, get a neoprene sleeve. I easily carried a 17" wide laptop in this tote. All in all I highly recommend this bag.I didn't think that this was going to be nearly large enough for all the items I needed to fit in it; but I took a chance because of the beauty of the Sugarland print. I have a large arm and sometimes when bags do not have a large enough drop between the top of the handles and the beginning of the bag I have troubles. I do not have to worry about that with this bag. The picture of the shiny black bag (if it remains the same as when I purchased it) is a good example of how this bag can get taller if need be, or stretch out width wise for those stuffed full moments that I am sure are coming. Overall I am happy with another LeSportsac product!Absolutely love this tote-handbag. Very good quality, and I love all the pockets and zippers. I wish the pocket at the very top inside would have been put down lower, but that's just quibbling. All in all, I'm very happy with this bag. I love the length of the straps, as it doesn't put the purse right under my arm when I carry it, and in the winter with a big coat, it will stay on my shoulder. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and I love the color (black). Excellent product, and highly recommended.
