I have several Travelon purses. Been buying them for years. So, when I saw this tote I knew it would be perfect for travel. Everything is as I expected except the zipper locks-the only reason for 4 not 5 stars- They feel cheaper than they used to and they don't lock as on the other purses I bought. On my other purses the zipper lock, once hooked, turns and clips up securing the zipper to not unlock. Travelon has made these new locks cheap. Which is sad. I've traveled all over Europe with a Travelon purse and not once did I feel unsafe. I love the safe of these purses.I have a Travelon that I have used quite a bit for many, many years. It has been a workhorse. My only problem with that purse is that I found it just a little too small to hold my packable parka along with everything else I carry on trips. So I found this larger and much, much prettier (midnight floral) bag.The first thing I noticed was that the clasps on the detachable strap don't close all the way. The openings are almost large enough for the metal loop they are clasping to slip through. It doesn't seem to be very secure. There is no sturdy locking mechanism as on my first bag. What I find very odd, and which can be seen from all the pictures of the bag, is that the central zipper pocket and all of the open slots are so far below the top of the bag. The upper few inches of the bag will most likely end up being wasted space, unless I happen to carry something unusually tall.I thought the central interior zip pocket would be a great place to stash my iPad, and I tried that out. The pocket depth, however, is inadequate to allow the zipper to close over my iPad. I guess I'll still use it for that purpose, however, as there is really no other good place to put it.My old purse has many different organizational pockets. This purse has pockets, but they are not so numerous and differentiated in size. There is no outside holder for a water bottle or umbrella. I would prefer to keep condensation and rain outside the purse.I guess the bar was set very, very high with my first bag. I'm a bit underwhelmed by this one's functionality, although it does look very, very nice.Love the purse. Goes well with any you wear.I. Love. Travelon. I have people asking me about my bags all the time. I had to replace my last one so I had purchased this one. The print is pretty and I love the touch of 'leather'. Just a couple of things about the clasps though. If you get hung up on things like I do, they tend to move out of the locking position into the open positions. The longer I have been using this bag, the more I see this problem occurring. Many times I have gotten off my bus and the clasps had opened and my purse hits the ground. I found one of the old Travelon locks I salvaged off a predecessor 3 purses back and have slipped it on, but I only have this one, and the bag has two clasps.I have the same issue with the matching backpack version of this pattern as well. That one is harder for me to have it catch on things. Maybe go back to the old clasps, they were far more secure?Other than this issue the purse's other features have held up.I was looking for a bag that would carry my everyday items, plus a folder of papers. This fit the bill. It carries a letter-size manilla folder in which I usually have 10 to 15 pages. I can slide it into a separate pocket in this bag. I also carry 2 checkbooks, a long wallet, a pocket sized notepad, an at-a-glance monthly calendar, reading glasses, sunglasses, my keys, and my zipper pouch that holds pens, lipstick, mascara and ibuprofen. I don't travel light, haha!! I would probably have room for my Kindle too.I like the gray color. It's not flashy and it matches everything. The zippers slide great and you can clasp them shut. The handles are a good length for carrying on my shoulder, or I can carry the bag in my hand and it doesn't touch the ground. Lots of pockets.I took my brand new bag to the movies the first night and got popcorn butter on it! But it wiped off with a tiny bit of Shout on a damp washcloth.I am happy with this Travelon bag!Missing strapPerfect travel bag. Doesn’t look like a security bag. Can be worn multiple ways. great number and placement of pockets. Took on a three week Europe trip and didn’t wanna carry anything else. Holds a ton without being bulky. Jacket, wallet, umbrella, and a lot more.I wanted a travel bag that had a trolley sleeve for luggage. This one did not have. Bummer. I would have kept it if not for that.Lots of space for work stuff.Ideal for work and when I'm going out.Is ideal to put on shoulder or using the longer strap across my body when I'm travelling.Love it when it can be locked and its anti theft which is great as security is important to me.Fits my tablet and notebooks.
