UPDATE:This is a GREAT sleeping bag that I've used below freezing 2x now. It does get toasty - but it's nice that I can unzip from the bottom as well to let some cool air in where it gets the warmest (around the feet). While hard to backpack with (you need to buy a separate compression sack to help out with that), it's kept me super comfortable in temperatures ~30°.-------From previous review:This sleeping bag is definitely intimidating when removing from the box. It comes with a bag but definitely not a compression stuff sack. I have no doubt this will keep me warm in freezing temperatures but might warrant more research on how one will carry it if hiking over a couple days. The price listed on Amazon was pretty comparable to what you could expect if purchasing this at REI.I'm very small (5'0 and petite size) but my husband is tall and thin. Both of us could use this easily. Will update my review to once I use this in Joshua Tree, where the evenings now are floating around freezing point (32-35 ° F).Used it once so far.. kept me warm and appears sturdy. A bit heavy but wasn't planning on going backpacking with it. For the price, under a hundred, it appears worth it.Don’t buy this sleeping bag if you plan to backpack with it. It does not pack very small even with a compression sack. But it kept me nice and toasty in 40 ish degree nights! Like I was border line too hot. This would definitely keep you warm around 20 degrees with just you and a pair of clothsI can't fully review this yet but so far out of the box I'm very happy. This bag is very plush and has the bells n whistles to keep u warm. I also went with the larger compression sack option.... great choice. This bag is not feathers soooo its bulky.I first purchased from Alps around 2007 there 3 season 4.0. I still use that tent and is still water tight.Customer service is absolutely fantastic as well. This was our first use of two separate models of ALPS zero degree bags. I'll leave a review of the other one on that order. We camp throughout the winter with our boy scout troop and this was our first replacement purchase, having retired a couple of North Face Cat's Meow bags that performed well. We were in the market for a cheaper alternative and were open to newer brands.I put two of my teenage sons in these bags for an overnight camp in 25 degree dry weather. ~60-70 humidity. No wind. Both boys conducted appropriate pre-cold weather sleeping actions, changing their wicking and warming layers and socks. Both boys - sleeping in separate campsites with separate tent teams - reported that neither bag kept them warm, inhibiting sleep. We'll remark these at 40+ bags and see how they perform. But they are definitely not "zero" bags.Used over a weekend in the desert in February. Kept everything but my face warm. RecommendedGreat quality, very comfortable, and enough room to adjust/move around when sleeping. If your wanting a sleeping back that will not only keep you warm on your fall/winter/spring camping, hiking, or outdoor adventures, this would be the one. I have had many sleeping bags, and this is the best thus far. It is not a sleeping bag for backapacking trips, a bit bigger than I thought it would condense to. Well worth the purchase.Spacious bag for a large person. But definitely not a zero rated bag.
